The recent warm weather has left grass, vegetation, and open spaces extremely dry, meaning a small spark can quickly develop into a serious fire.

Whether you're enjoying a BBQ, spending time outdoors, or disposing of smoking materials, please take extra care to help prevent accidental fires.

✅ Never leave BBQs unattended
✅ Keep BBQs well away from dry grass, fences, trees, and sheds
✅ Dispose of cigarettes safely and never throw them onto the ground or from vehicles
✅ Take litter home, especially glass bottles which can magnify sunlight and pose a fire risk
✅ Avoid lighting campfires or open fires in parks, fields, and woodland areas
✅ Ensure disposable BBQs are fully extinguished and cool before disposal

🚒 Dry grass and vegetation can ignite very quickly, allowing fires to spread rapidly and put people, wildlife, and property at risk.

If you see a fire, move to a safe location and call 999 immediately.
